Many people ask the question: What is love? The question appears very simple but I think it's one of the most difficult questions facing mankind.
This is because the concept of love is abstract and complex. It's often a subject of great debate. It can refer to a variety of feelings, states and attitudes, ranging from generic pleasure such as 'I love this book' to intense interpersonal attraction such as 'I love Jersey, my beautiful wife.'
Thus, most definitions of the concept of love encompass different feelings- from the passionate desire and intimacy of romantic love to the sexual, emotional closeness of familial and platonic love to the profound oneness of religious love.
However, it's important to note that love can be clarified by determining what love isn't.
As a general expression of positive sentiments, love is commonly contrasted from hate; as a less sexual and more emotional intimate attachment, love is commonly contrasted from lust and as an interpersonal relationship with romantic overtones, love is commonly contrasted from friendship.
